    Hi

    never had 1 of these before, is it considered an early variant , a type for trop moleskin tunics?

      Dion,

      both are early type eagles. The first one posted is a nice early bullion eagle, looks to maybe have actual silver bullion for the swastika which would be an indication of early 30s in my opinion. You also see the earlier eagles are often done on a grayish colored backing.
      The second eagle is a very nice enlisted embroidered eagle with bullion highlights to the top of the wings, or what remains of the bullion highlights. I have always thought of them being for NCOs but thats just my opinion. Both birds could have easily belonged to the same guy, as im sure you know NCOs would often wear bullion insignia on their waffenrocks and what not. Either way two nice original birds. Matt
