Saw this offered on the web...
Late war "last ditch" mismatch M44? or restored incorrectly?
Polizei M44 with ShuPo litzen with interesting WH late breast eagle + M44 Pz. Gren. shoulderstraps.

We have seen ligit mismatch uniforms before. Remember that Polizei HBT with factory Heer insignia. What about this one?

The jacket and tabs appear to be police while the eagle is Heer. The eagle is the likely addition.

Yes that would be the assumption but never say never...
This one from an old thread (Polizei HBT) turned out to be period made like this...
with Heer litzen factory applied and wide shoulder loops for Heer shoulder straps and late war WH chest eagle...

It's difficult to say for what forces either of these jackets, if period badged, would be intended (Heer, Volksturm, Polizei). While interesting, like a two headed goat I once saw in Jamaica, I would consider them an aberration.

My thought since it looks unworn is it may have been an unfinished tunic picked up by a GI and a mix of insignia was added to finish it off?

I have noticed this tunic as well.... I would put my money on a post war incorrect added heer breast eagle (this when indeed the Pol collar litzen are authentic), the left side markings are more typical Polizei style as well.

I have seen many period (late war) photos of Polizei personnel without the sleeve eagle, it very well simply could never had one?

But the tunic (fabric) could of course indeed have been issued to the Heer (thus with the possibility of the eagle being authentic); in that case IMO, the litzen must have been added post war.

I'm a non-believer of the specific combination displayed here but naturally reserve the right for those that have seen it in hands…after all stranger combos have been witnessed.
