Tropical heer tunic - doctor

Hi all,

I am going to put this tropical heer tunic - doctor on estand for sale.

Just would like to make sure that everything is OK.

The insignia all has been replaced, at least the Eagle and the tabs.

Also, it's not for a doctor, per se - it is for a medic.

Johnny and Don have already pointed out the issues. All insignia is resewn and that isn't a big deal as long as its pointed out. Its has generic tabs and not the tropical ones once there, who knows when the boards were added and the same goes for the medic patch. Worth the sum of its parts and what a base 2nd model heer trop with replaced insignia is. Still a decent tunic with some ware. Matt

Yes I'm agree. It was a stripped tropical 2nd tunic and now with replaced regular heer tabs and boards. However all is original and nice.
Just the eagle is the right one.

Agree with everyone. 2nd pattern tunic with all insignia replaced. Matt sums it up well. Doubt very much this was a medic's tunic during the War.

Hold up just one minute please gentlemen,

how do we not know that this is not a German tropical tunic which was worn in Italy between 1943 to 1945 ???

This is exactly what they did. They sewed continental eagles and in rare cases tabs on to tropical tunics combined with continental boards.

Who says this is not one of them ???

Please note, strange hybrid tunic and cap ( summer/ tropical ? ) with no collar tabs ( also no cap eagle ? ) on the one shown in these photos. I suppose when he gets his hands on some he will sew them on before the next uniform inspection.

I wonder how many of these Italian campaign 43-45 tropical tunic have been stripped of the original continental insignia and had it replaced with tropical insignia to make them look like they were worn in Afrika ???
