In a case such as this, nobody could render any judgement with 100 percent certainty from photos alone.

Well, here there are people that states bad opinions easily with only the same photos as I imagine you have read in the thread
      What I´m asking is :
Somebody can tell 100% sure with the pics ( I repeat I will shot more if required) that the insignia are replaced?

Not wanting to speak on behalf of anyone else or put words in Mike Davis' mouth but what was actually said was "I suspect the insignia has been replaced." I would call the litzen application non-textbook and naturally this will generate suspicion. Also, although an eagle sewn through the lining can be a perfectly acceptable wartime application, and likely was a fairly widespread practice in wartime uniform factories, the simple fact that it is easier to reapply an eagle this way versus opening the lining or some similar method to replicate the appearance of an eagle sewn prior to the installation of a lining may necessitate closer scrutiny than the not-through-the-lining stitching that many collectors prefer.

Well no, I can't. And that is why I purposefully used the word 'suspect' in my initial post.

If clearer photos, taken in natural light (without flash) were made along with photo(s) showing other construction stitching matching the thread applying the eagle, then we'd know more.

And even if (and that is not certain) the insignia is replaced, it is still a very attractive garment and is highly collectible.

              Thanks Chris, exactly.

Based on the new photos, I don't see signs of previous litzen.

Agree with this guy. You can say that you do like a tunic or not, even you can give your opinions but all of us must put maximum care in our words.
Blocky ends on collar tabs do not mean that they were post war applied at all. Regarding the eagle stitching across the lining... That's simply a nonsense
And YES! From these pictures is impossible to tell that the insignia has been post war applied.

                  Hi Chris
At least Mr. Davis put an explanation ( that can be wrong or not, this is not the matter) so no problem with him in spite of causing a confusion.

The sad thing are the other idiots ( I´m sorry for the word but they deserve it) that follow the bad comment without any judgement and stating "replaced!"

                  Regards. Joan

A jacket you must have in hands to be sure if insignia is original applied, all you need are good eyes and a strong light.

The eagle and litzen application comments by others did put doubts in my head but indeed "blocky" litzen although unattractive
+ breast eagles stitched straight through the lining are both definately NOT automatic red flags...Instead possibly
late war traits (to speed up production or manufacturer's variation).
Like I wrote earlier a beauty. I especially like how the straps match the tunic in that brownish wool material. A keeper if it had been mine to own!

                        Well said, Nick.
I like the tunic as well.

                        Cheers,
