    HBT TUNIC cleaning tips

as far as i have read, rinsing or soaking hbt tunics in cold water and then leaving them to dry naturally, laid flat, is the best way of banishing unidentified age staining.

    is this correct?

i have seen some for sale with a 'wrinkled fade effect' and wonder if this is the unfortunate outcome of any such washing attempts with these tunic types.
information gratefully accepted and thanks very much in advance.

HBT tunics are pretty tough compared to wool clothing, if the cloth is in good shape you can clean them safely with a little soap and warm (not really hot) water and then rinse them a couple times to get the soap out. They will not shrink. The effect you are describing is from the tunics having being put in an electric drier which will damage and shrink them to give them that odd appearance.

To dry I wring them out lightly by hand and then lay them flat on a low stack of towels. Turn it over a couple times and smooth out creases. It should dry without any crumpling etc.
