    Infantery officer's Südfront tunic

    Hi all,

Could you please post your thoughts on this tunic. As far as I can see it looks all originally sewn.

    Kind regards,
    Gerd V

Its odd for a number of reasons, that ek2 ribbon isn't even in a button whole and its just sewn. I would expect the eagle to be sewn a bit nicer but considering they would have had a sewing machine why machine the tabs and sew the boards in to hand do the eagle? Material is a bit different as well.... If you can't get it cheaply I would just pass

Nice light weight combat tunic. Insignia might have been restored (hard to prove) or original...
Does not matter as it displays well "as is"

I think a number of different tunics will be found with hand sewn eagles and machine sewn tabs.

Waffenrocks for a start. Also walking out tunics.
Not tropical i know but the principle is the same.

I saw so many tunics in the 60s out of Germany with removed or clipped eagles, this is not a surprise.

My grandmother was an ace at hand sewing.
                    I was not.

                    Betcha this is an example.
