    Tunic Pocket Flap

On one of my tunics the top left pocket flap is coming loose because the thread that held it there is old and falling apart. I was wondering if I should leave it go or do something about it? I think that if I leave it go it will eventually fall off, but if I do something to it the value will decrease. It is an m36 tunic if that would help. I would like your opinions please. Thank you!

Can you post a photo? Is the thread brittle or has it just pulled loose?

The thread has pulled loose. I did nothing to it except move it to another manikin and I noticed it happening. It isn't that bad, but I am afraid that it might get worse.

Some people are purists and will say not to touch it. I will repair things if not repairing them will cause more damage. Something like that is probably from mistreatment after the war getting picked up by the flap etc.

It would help to see images.

I will upload a photo as soon as possible, but my computer is acting slow and I can't seem to move my photos from my phone to my desktop right now. Thank you for the advice so far!

Just post them when you can. It is hard to suggest how to deal with it without seeing the damage.

This is the picture of the damage. It is not that bad, but I am afraid that it might come more loose since the main thread that held it there is off of the tunic.

I would just leave it alone. I thought you meant the whole flap was torn off. that is normal. These things are antiques now.
