I will take some measurements and post them after work. I did not notice the blue with the naked eye but upon inspection of the photo you can see it. It almost looks like the bluing for a gun. Is that possible for something like this, instead of paint or enamel?

      Jerry,

Personally I like it. I compared it against a "textbook cross" and I don't think yours matches.

I also compared it to my "variation", "copy" etc and it bears lots of similarities. I think the gold wash on mine hides a lot of details. Again not everyone shares my feelings these are real. But when I compare mine next to the textbook cross I'm convinced its real. Same size, same exacting detail in its executtion etc.I just can't believe the fakers were producing anything meeting this quality 12 years ago. Just my opinion.Jim

I agree, that they are very similar. I tend to believe that it is original. I did some measurements but they are not comparable due to differing scales. But the actual measurements are as follows:

        Height 1 1/32
        width 31/32
        depth 4/32
sheild length 11/32 width is 18/32
        banner 3/32
        swastika 6/32
        scroll 14/32
        eagle wings 22/32

My belief is yours is probably real too. However many of the members will remain skeptical. But so far no one has offered any conclusive evidence the ones like yours or mine are copies. So until that day comes I will have to assume mine are real.Jim

They look like a set I once had from the family of a vet - I like them

Even if original, the devices really do not make a lot of sense on a pioneer board unless the entire 44th Division wore the devices and not just the 134th regiment (which was regulation).
