5 Comparison with panzer pink and artillery red for those who have never had a chance to handle recon copper brown. All shoulder boards 101% originals brought back by New Zealand soldiers from Africa,

    Chris

p.s. note the 2 different shades of copper brown. It comes in a dark and a lighter shade

Thanks Chris for showing the contrasts of waffenfarbs. Earlier in the year I got this pair of salty early dak boards which I have agonised over the actual colour ever since.

I bought them expecting them to be artillery and first impressions in hand were they might be Recon. I felt they were not red enough to be artillery and not pink enought to be Panzer even taking into account the considerable bleaching/fading.

When comparing them with other Pz & Artillery boards I own the copper brown is more apparant.

Pic with Pz & Artillery boards in the back ground. The underside of the piping is exactly the same as the top so fading has not contibuted to shade difference.

Based on those computer images, they look copper brown to me Greg.

Nice score and good to know this thread was a help,

Comparison of all 3 soutaches. The copper brown example sticks out like a light in the dark,

                            Hello Albert,

based on the image posted, it is hard to say. To be "recon" it has to have the copper hue to it. If it is a tan hue then that is construction troops,
