Never met him personally but he was kind enough to help me on the past...
A big loss for the community

    RIP Richard

Yeah, he was a true and passionate collector right up to the end. As Gentry noted, right up until the end he was still attempting to acquire pieces. When we spoke last week, he talked about getting a hat from me to complete a wrap. You gotta love a guy like that, and I'm not ashamed to say I did.

Wow, its just goes to show there is always a story behind each post that's written. I didn't have much to do with him but I do remember his posts - the Yosemite Sam avatar suited him RIP and condolences to the family

This is very sad to hear
I enjoyed and learned a lot from his posts. He was a very active member.
Allow me to express my sincere condolences to his relatives and friends. I wish them all strenght needed in these difficult times.

Richard, you may rest in peace now.

That is indeed very shocking news.

I truly feel sorry for the fact that his last whistles blowing here on the WAF occurred in a negative spirit. Leroy's post does indeed perhaps clarify things.

                condolences

It sounds like his vitriolic posts may have been caused by his condition.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I'm very saddened to get this news. Richard, Smitty and I often traveled together to SoCal collectors meetings in the Los Angeles area. Richard was a true gentleman and a friend who I will miss greatly.

Below is a picture of Richard and I taken at the SOS earlier this year. Richard is the better looking gentleman on the left. This hurts.

Perhaps a moderator can lift his waf suspension to bring a bit of closure to his time here on the forum and hiw contributions.Never met him or knew him from adam, but the mere mention of wraps brings him immediately to mind and always will. RIP and God's speed.

Oh my god, what a shock. I just sent him an email about 30 minutes ago along with other members of our local collector group. This is TERRIBLE.

Richard will certainly be missed by his friends here in southern California. He was a really nice guy and I was always glad to see him attend our local meetings.

I know he had a recent conflict with some forum members, but he was a great guy who had a real passion for collecting and firmly believed in his research.

My condolences go out to his wife and daughter.

That's very bad news. It's a great loss for the community. I have been in the forum for about 2 years and whenever a wrap showed up I was always waiting to hear Richard's opinion, so I could learn a bit more. R.I.P.

Nicely put Mike, I feel the same way, even when I did not agree with him we still got along and he would stand his ground, I respect that. He was one of the handful of people that really knew (most of the time, sorry Richard ) what he was talking about. That is too bad.
