    Heer M42 uniform - gebirgsjäger ?

    Hello,
I found this uniform in Czech Republic. Everything is original. I need shoulder straps for my uniform.

I think, that it is gebirgsjäger uniform, becouse in this uniform are green collar tabs.

What would you recommend shoulder straps ?

    Here are photos :

The tunic is an original salty M42 with post war added insignas. The collar tabs are not gebirgsjäger but the universal M38 litzen worn by all units of the Heer. They are poorly restored (resewn over what seems to be the dark green backing of early war collar tabs).
Any pair of Heer M40 shoulder boards could complete this tunic.

Yes a ****ty restoration but a very cool combatworn tunic that could look awsome with right insignas!

The insignia on your tunic has clearly been replaced at some point. The tunic appears to be heavily worn as opposed to the relatively new insignia. While it is well known insignia was replaced during wartime IMO these have not been on there since the war, with the exception of the early style, moth eaten litzen, those may be original to your tunic.

Not Gebirgsjäger, and really hard to say if it was originally applied. The wear of the insignia does not quite match up with the wear of the tunic.. but why would someone do such a bad job of "restoring" a nice tunic like this?

Is possible that is field done, but even then, why such the bad job?

Signs point towards re-applied post war insignia but hard to say on this.
