My new M36 Aufklärungs Abteilung tunic

    Hello Guys,

This one came straight out of the attic and it wasn't stored very well. It was folded in many ways and it was out of shape as you can see. Luckly my mom was able to help me out with that

What is nice to see is the mismatch of waffenfarbes. The collar tabs have the original yellow collar and the tabs have panzer waffenfarbe. Probably the cause of many cavalry units that changed into panzer units.

I realy like this tunic because my home town Ghent was conquered by the
Aufklärungs Abteilung 25, as this tunic is dated 1940 it's a perfect match for a display.

    Enjoy the pictures!

    WHEN I BOUGHT IT....

Very nice Sander! Congrats on your find.

Still I feel that I must add something as a small piece of advise and of course with all the respect in the world for your mother; but please pretty please be careful ironing those old tunics!

This time the result turned out very fine and obviously your mother knew what she was doing, but normally spoken it is better not to iron directly on to the wool. You can better use something like a towel in between to avoid burning the wool.

                    Best

Sander, that's a wonderful M36 combat-tunic which fits exactly in your new project! Congratulations

Can you post, for personal reference, a close-up of the trade-badge?

                      Good advice from Zauberflöte too.

                      Regards

I agree with the above. I would suggest stronly next a garment steamer?. I know that moms know best, but stemers are the best. It also help with odors

                          congratulations
