Not a real rayon basket weave piping used for these WSS boards...
but some kind of cotton post war piping !
Basket weave piping was of course used pre 45 .

With all due respect, it is the same type of Basket Weave piping.

All comes down to the blend of material it is made from. Some piping was made from a rayon-cotton blend while others were made up from a recycled cotton-rayon blend. Yet in other cases they used artificial silk rather than Rayon. In all cases they were seriously short of Cotton by 1944 unless they recycled it into a blend.

If the Basket Weave piping on the SS boards is post war then it should not be hard for someone to show us all, off-the-shelf-today stock to compare with,
