    Painted Dutch Uniform Jacket 1940

I got this jacket from my cousin. I know it's a painted Dutch uniform and that is was painted in Almelo. I was used by the Germans, probably for their "Arbeidseinsatz".

Can anybody tell me more about this jacket?

If it was painted the lining would be black or dark blue aswell? Are you sure its died?
The jacket is modified with 2 extra bottom pockets making it German.
Could this be some kind of NSB rebuild or more probable fuerschutz?

Ps: Early Dutch tunics were dark blue

It can be dyed with the fabric liner turning into a lighter color than the woolen material...Simply the fabric liner cloth did not absorb the dye as well as the outer woolen shell.

Yes dyed. Is it possibly Belgian Fabriekswacht used? They used Dutch helmets (Flemish units)
        perhaps also modified Dutch tunics?
Not sure about the waffen farbe for that scenario though...
and the waffen farbe + collar tabs could indeed be freiw. Fuerschutz polizei ! (crimson red)

Regarding the Arbeits einsatz comment (in occupied countries) it means mandatory (forced) labor...
No specific uniforms for that service existed!
