    Unknown shoulder board- Opinions needed Please

    I recently picked up this strange shoulder board. It is LW Blue and the chain stitched number is in Lilac thread.

    I have never seen a LW shoulder board with a pointy end, either in person or referenced. What are your opinions?

        Opinions?

        Hello Paul;
        You bought the board from me.
        As I explained when you bought it, I aquired it from George Petersen, who
        ID'ed it as a Luftwaffe Probationary Unit;
        Pauke , (Gary Beadle: Hello, long-time no talk to!!) do you agree?

        I'd venture to say that Mr. Petersen's expertise on things Luftwaffe are second to none!
        I look forward to the other opinions from others albeit with less expertise.

        I'll look forward to seeing other Shoulder strap afficianados at the SOS
        next week. My tables are in Row R, 28->30.

          Hi Chris,

          Yes! I love the board too. Thank you.

          You told me that George theorized that it was Penal for LW and that he was not certain (or at least that is what I understood. If I misunderstood, I am sorry). I have a few things that came from him as well, and he does readily admit if he is not for sure on something. Just because he does not know about a certain item does not mean that no one else does.

          I am just testing the waters to see if new information has emerged since. I have never heard of the lilac waffenfarbe nor pointed straps being used in the LW, so I figured that someone else out there had something concrete. As you all know, new documents are being uncovered all the time.

          Regardless of what it is, I have not doubt that it is LW related, one way or another. I do love it.

          Thank you!

          I hope that you all hit the jackpot at the SOS. I am envious.

          Thanks Billbert and Paul. I will make some more shots and add them. I do love this strap.

            Paul..If you do some digging about the Visor cap that goes with this..I believe the 2 holds some significance with the unit marking on the cap..Billbert

              I will look for the cap. There is a LW cap here?

              Here is what I have already, which matches up to was is in the Angolia books, description wise.
