    Panzer wrap opinions please.

If the experts could take a look at this panzer wrap, it would be great. I have my suspicions about it, just want to get it confirmed.

Pictures are in a gallery there. My friend is convinced it's a late war throw together, I'm not real sure, but I know what the chance of it being real are.

    Thanks,

    Matt

      Greetings Matt,

The cap eagle is a known reproduction! It is factory machined on so that gives you a clue. The piping on the collar and the tabs is wrong and I don't like the breast eagle.

        Thanks gents.

Like I said, I had my suspicions about it to begin with. Too bad.. lost an original tunic getting this, even though it screamed fake to me, let my buddy sway me into doing it.

        Matt

*EDIT* If I can just confirm, the wrap itself appears to be fake aswell correct? Not just the piping and breast eagle?

          Matt,

It is a really, really, really late war totally thrown together wrapper...about 40 or 50 years too late. Sorry, as Mr Singer expressed, this poor thing had no chance...D.O.A.

          Sorry for your friends loss.

Try and post here before you buy. There is a $25 fee to be able typist pics. It is cheap money. You can make it back on one good purchase.

Don't get discouraged. It's called tuition.

              Well good news,

I'm able to trade the panzer wrap and everything back for an original fix bale WWII helmet signed by the surviving band of brothers, this is an authenticated item, and means a lot to me, as I reenact 101st Airborne 2nd 506th (I've been at it before Band of Brothers and believe that by far the people of this generation are the GREATEST generation).

With the person that I got it from being a close friend they're being decent about this, I just wish they had told me about the helmet before hand, because I would have gone for that before the panzer wrap. Oh well, atleast I'm not losing my arse on it, and getting something that will be the center piece in my bar/man cave.

              Matt
