    Arbeitsanzug

In Michael Prutt´s book "Kampfgruppe Strachwitz", the author make reference to a "1940 pattern dark blue single breasted jacket and trousers for motorized units (Arbeitsanzug)"; somebody have a pic in colour of this garment or a good pic in black and white?
    Thanks a lot.

i don't have this book, wich is a lack (i recognize, shame on me ) so i can't say for sure it is was you are refering to.
i know lots of period pics of a blue drillich suit in 2 pieces, worn by mechanicals and armored vehicles crews (including panzer) in the Heer.
the jacket has specific carateristics (aside Heer markings) in its construction wich make it easally recognizable on period pics, if you compare it with mle 33 drillich jacket (in cream or green color, trousers are identical), or with blue LW and KM arbeitanzug drillich suits.

this suit could be worn too with jacket tucked in trousers, then in this configuration it looked like a coverall.

here is an example, found on the net, but i can't gave credits as i don't have anymore its reference :

this wellknown one is from BH archives files, several exist of this units in southern France in 1942 :

last, this one from BH archives too is the only one i'm aware of wich shows shoulder straps worn on this suit :

Thanks a lot Denka, your info is very useful to me.
I´ve got another book of Pruett about Panzers uniforms, he talk about coveralls but he don´t name any fatigue garment like this.
He mention many units inside a panzer division like the panzerjäger units, pioniers, artillery, recconnaisance. etc but not the werkstattkompanie kompanie for example, maybe this is the reason for not including this garment since this one is typical of this kind of units.

the blue working drillich suit illustrated above appeared in 1934 imo, i have several pics showing its use before the war start, and it was used during the conflict untill may1945, in technical repairing units mainly as you noticed it.
so maybe it is not the "1940 pattern" blue suit for motorized units indicated by M. Pruett in his book ?
but in this case, i don't see what he refers to.
the best would be to ask him directly to clarify this point.
