Unusual buttons on a M36 tunic

I found this unusual buttons on a M36 tunic;
they seem to be made of "plastic", are of 18mm size,
and seem to be sewn originally to the tunic....

Has anybody allready seen this type of buttons ??

No,not common but they were used.

I agree with Glenn, they are original. They freaked me out the first time I saw them too, they are uncommon. Some type of an early synthetic.

Nice original plastic buttons, I would say rather uncommon to encounter. An interesting detail.

A local collector has a nice M43 with these plastic buttons, why not use plastic? easy and cheap to produce!

Indeed the same maker. This is a very nice altered NCO tunic, and I like how the tabs were not moved back.
