    2nd Schutzen boards. Opinions

Guys what do you think of these? The backing is a little different but they seem to be right to me. Love to hear others thoughts. Matt

    Greetings Matt,

By the look of them, they are private purchase. That gives leeway in button holes, material and embroidery. I like them alot. They might be Reichswehr or very, very early TR. IMHO.

      Matt,

I did see these when they were first listed.
Very nice as far as I'm concerned.

Very early private purchased pair, probably for the "Dienstrock" of the Reichswehr (because of the grey color of the boards and the 1934 established Schützen Regiment 2).
Very interesting is the button for the shooting lanyard.

Very nice pair, too bad that I'm only collecting singles

          Best regards,
          Andreas

            Andreas,

thank you for you comment! I know they are really quite early and rather desireable. I don't mind collecting pairs and or singles, pairs are even better but hell to find a single like this is rare enough! Matt

Hi, I think they are good too, the early boards are a lighter green which was the collar of the earlier collars and badge cloth, they start like the one I posted "8" and generally slowly get darker like yours in the early 1930s until they almost all use the bottle green like the "73" example. The backing material is not a problem. They used what was available. I have seen that color used for the underside of RH collars.

thanks for posting your early boards. I really like these early boards like this, they just have a certain charm to them. Matt

Yes, and they are rare as well with the tiny size of the early WH and RH compared to the later 1930s and wartime Army.
