Relic fahnenträger Paraderock?

This wreck sold for $305 + $25 shipping on ebay.
I was surprised to see the amount of bid activity and and final auction result.
Later reviewing the auction again I noticed the right sleeve ....

It does not really look like a fahnentrager ghost...does it? Is it glue residue?

IMO it's not a mark left by a fahnentrager patch. More likely some BS a collector added.

There looks to be something similar on the lower left sleeve.

My observations too, for a flag bearer it would be for an OA of higher ranking NCO. The patch on the lower left arm would be for gun layer if real.

Gun layer lower left sleeve makes sense...upper right sleeve "mess" remains a question mark if the rank does not make sense for fahnentraeger...I thought so as well... ghost shape is off too for flag bearer! I wonder what happened and is it even restorable?
So why did it sell for as much as it did in this condition ($305) I wonder?

Yes US ebay...crazy money I think considering the condition... My thoughts:
I guess some people rather pay a premium for something that looked like it went through a war... than a nicer condition garment, always worrying it might be a fake (like the Chinese made waffenrocks). It is quite scary that absolutetely everything is being reproduced nowadays!
This is the real McCoy no doubt, but yikes...not someting you would want to take to the dry cleaners either!

I suspect shill bidding may be afoot, although the herd mentality sometimes takes over in these auctions. I would be amazed if that is an original Fahnenträger tunic due to the low rank.

It happened but it was very rare. I suspect this is Mickey Maus.

The only thing that comes to mind is someone needed embroidered red "13" shoulder boards to complete a fabulous restoration. The boards would need restoring themselves...plus it would take two people completing fabulous restorations to have a bidding war.

Makes one wonder.
