Original jacket and original insignia

seems an odd weave... terrible condition. great colour.

virtual rags. great colour though strange texture for an hbt. litzen replaced. whats the story?

Looks original to me,camera is out off focus that makes the material looks strange. Litzen are prewar with white waffenfarbe.

Insignia are all replaced. Fabric shows little wear but is riddled with massive holes. Repaired rodent damage?

Was told this was a POW jacket used here in the US. He worked in this jacket in the camp.

If this jacket had been worn out by a POW I would expect more fading and more damage in common wear areas like the collar edge where it rubs against the neck, cuff edges, elbows and also the buttonholes. Based on these photos, to me, this one doesn't seem to have been worn all that much.
