German Military Pins??

I picked these up at an estate sale just as it was closing and these almost got thrown away. I was told by someone on another site that they maybe German?
They seem to be very old and made of painted copper. Anyone know??

Look like US distinctive unit insignia to me...maybe (occupied) German made?
