          Guys.

I could use some inspiration/suggestions for a ribbon bar for this tunic.

One can see that it started with a small ribon bar and one loop was added to make room for a bigger one.

          Thanks

          Daniel.

I like it! Small ribbon bar would still make sense as it seems less likely that this is WWI vetran tunic. The extra loop may have been added to support a medal bar. Ribbonbar suggestion: EK2, Winterschlacht, KVK2, WH 4 year.

This one shows a lot of character, sweet and as it appears untouched! Nice to see a heimat uniform to have been so extensively used.

                Thanks kaiser and Zauber...

Ive tried with a 4 piece bar, it a liiiitle to short, i guess a 5 piece would be great.

                Any suggestions there?

I dont think it was for a medal bar, i think this is a field used tunic...

This is for a reserve officer, he probably did have WWI service as a Lt. etc. I would look for a ribbon bar with an Imperial EK II, Hindenburg with swords maybe one other WWI era service award and than WWII awards- KVK with swords, 4 year service medal, Ost etc. I would guess 5-7 awards but it will depend on the size of the ribbons. It is not for a medal bar, these were not worn on field service tunics. The extra loop was added during the War when he was in service to accommodate a couple more ribbons for the new wartime awards, this is normal to see.

Agreed, and I don't expect this to have been a field used tunic Daniel, not with this "junior" officer rank even though it is a reserve officer. The loops are certainly not to accommodate the CCC if you were referring to that possibility.

CCC?? i never thought of that....its clearly that its for ribbonbars.

I dont collect the CCC/EK1/Ost/ek2 buttonhole/Iab/swb etc etc mint unused tunics with loops for about just everything that a german soldier could have, i call them christmas trees.

The wear on this one seems fieldwear to me

Thanks for support here Johnny and Zauber

You want something like this- probably with a 4 year medal as well and maybe westwall for that unit etc. (I think the 6th ID was there early) if the loops are long enough.

Excellent tunic indeed! I´ll check my swap box for a ribbon bar.

In this photo...are there two types of wool used in this tunic...or is the contrast from sun/UV damage, and that makes the panels look so different from side to side?
