Leather Panzer uniform?

Hi,

I don't collect uniforms and I have absolutly no clue what I have got here, except what I got is 100% original.

It's black Panzer uniform, just made in leather and KM stamped 1944????

I did some search and found that several units used leather jackets, SS Panzer, Uboote, KM Kleinkampfverbände. Could this be one of those uniforms?

Indeed what you have there is a naval issue (U-Boot?) jacket. These have not been made for panzer although late war period pictures exist with HG division members wearing them. NSKK motortroops wore a similar leather protective jacket.

This is a leather jacket issued for the Kriegsmarine but sometimes used by panzer crew members.
You can see it both used by WH at 1'17 and WSS at 1'34 and 1'44 in this rare historical video !

Great footage indeed! But actually the panzer soldier captured in 1'12-17 is a HG-Division member and not Heer, you can clearly see his LW breasteagle.

HG-Division member ?

I've watched again the video with a very slowest speed and it's very hard to say that it's realy an HG-Division member: in early May, the HG Panzerkorps was positioned and encircled near Dresden where he surrendered to the Soviets on 8 May 1945 ! Although several small groups successfully made it through to the west !
You can't clearly see his breast eagle because he is always bended on the corpse and often his eagle is seen angled ?
The only sure thing is that he is wearing WH panzer skulls on his collar and it seem that it's the same leather jacket showed in the thread !

While these leather jackets (the type pictured here and the standard KM black leather deck jackets with brass KM buttons often seen on Hitlerjugend Panzer personnel in France) were occasionally commandeered for use in armored units, they were not official Panzer issue (imo).
