Will there be a companion/second volume to this work, say on SS winter/cold weather gear?

      Hi Scott,

That might appear some day, but the next project is already in progress.
Albeit, thise one has nothing to do with German uniforms whatsoever - it deals with vintage guitars from late 19th Century until 1965.

      Best,
      Vincent

Well there will be a compendium book on padded winter uniforms in the coming future. It'll be an extension of Vincent's Winter Uniforms book and my Wehrmacht Camo book both published at Schiffer books .

The work is in progress , but no date of publication has been fixed yet.

                    Hi Hans,

Thanks for the lovely picture and positive comment. Hope you enjoy the read, and if not, there's always the pictures to look at.

@ "Rommel": Have you tried buying your copy via Schiffer directly?

I think that would be the cheapest option for you.

                    Best;
                    Vincent S.

I bought my copy last week andi have been very impressed by it so far...i am wondering however why there is no one piece reversible grey/white winter combi's in the book...no mention or period photo's....i remember seeing a photo some time back of a German soldier surrendering with his arms up behind his white washed helmet (may have been printed in an Osprey publication)...or was this item of clothing strictly SS issue only?.
I also have a question regarding the two piece Schneeanzug...was this suit worn by SS troops as well ?,thank you for your time.

                            Hello,

                            Thanks for the positive comments.

Yes, it is true that I did not include the one-piece reversible Kombi, as well as several other items, as these are regarded as being SS-issue items. Above that, I was restricted in time and space when writing this book.

All that aside, examples are know where these Kombi's were used by regular Wehrmacht troops as well.

Regarding the two-piece Schneeanzüge: these suits were indeed worn by SS members as well.

Hope this helps. If you ought to have any other questions, just drop a line.

                            Best Regards,

                            Vincent S.
