    Unknown leather jacket, panzer? Kriegsmarine?

    Hi,

I have this jacket for some time but what is it exactly? is it even german ww2?
It have the standard german buttons and the name Karl Schindhelm.

    Love to hear some comments.

    Greetings, A.v.d.P

The writing looks like RBN written out as full words over the numbers so that is a good sign. The Army had some leather protective suits but photos are rare and I have not seen this type.

        Lederjacke

I'm leaning towards KM with respect to the lining color that are seen on confirmed pieces.

If it was KM shouldn't the buttons be engraved with the anchor?
          Just a thought.

I think a KM. I've had a KM jacket with exactly the same sort of stamp. As been said before, the buttons should be with an anchor. Maybe civil replaced? Just a gues.

The straps at the wrists may also be added or replaced.

Yes maybe, they are made of exactly the same material and shows the same kind of use.

All the buttons are marker with RSS.
So i can conclude that this is a KM jacket altered in/or after the war?

                  The name is on volksbund:

                  Nachname: Schindhelm
                  Vorname: Karl
                  Dienstgrad: Obergefreiter
                  Geburtsdatum: 13.11.1910
                  Geburtsort: Kaltenbrunn
                  Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 23.03.1945
                  Todes-/Vermisstenort: Balatonfüred

Post it in Atlantik Pirat Forum.
It's focused on KM so i believe the guys there should know for sure.
