Can anyone supply info concerning this group - anything?

Hi Kevin,
these are Landwehr troops or reservists. I have some info on them somewhere, but cannot for the life of me find it right now. But I am sure if you use that term to search the forums or the net something will come up. Most of these guys were old WW1 Veterans and the pic would date from the per-to early war period.

The covered front buttons, like a M1915 Bluse, with pockets was a 1920s Reichsheer style. The caps suggest Mountain Troops.

The visor cap band on the leader appears to also be Weimar era, though I can't figure out why he would be missing, apparently, the cockade's wreath.

If the ribbon bars were clearer, that might help date this, by presence or absence of Hindenburg Crosses.

They all appear to be wearing metal cap eagles, which again suggests to me early Third Reich period, say 1934-35-ish, and I agree reservists out on an exercise.
