The collar tabs are both singles for the same collar side. They should be mirror images, not identical.

          Put together junk.

Could be wrong, but the wool almost looks like it's Swiss.
I used to convert those for reenactors back in the late 1980s

              M44

Thank you to all, very appreciated. The tunic is now on it's way back to the seller.

I think that's a smart move, Howard. At best I think it may be done from a cut-down overcoat.

Yea... just too many open ended questions; probably the best move.

There are (or at least were) several of these on the Estand just a few weeks ago. Some very good ones, as I recall. If you absolutely just want one I'd see if they're still up for sale.

                  Cheers,
                  Jeremy

                    M44

Thanks again for all the support and assistance, you guys are all the best! The Grenadier officers uniform I posted on this forum and the Flak Luft on the luft forum came from the same seller. If anyone has the time I would appreciate an extra look at those. The seller is being very cooperative and did want me to know that the M44 came from a collector source and not the same place as the Luft Flak and the PG on this thread.

"No." was/is sometimes used as an abbreviation for "Nummer," even in RB numbers, as this original stamp on this unquestionably original salty Luftwaffe rucksack shows.

Yes as your rucksack shows No. was used, or in this case Yes on No. as an abbreviation. but it does not help this tunic in any way, it is still a post war put together just as fake as they come!

Yes the No. used on your Rucksack makes it somewhat rare I would imagine, nice item Chris!

Many m44 tunics were found still not finished at the end of the war. It's one of them with replaced insigna (collar patches are fake) and fake markings. The base tunic is authentic. IMO.
