    Questions about this Jacket M42.

    Hi Friends,
I purchased this picture for a curiosity rather strange ...
I have to ask yourself some questions:

1: Eagle and Tabs from Official on the jacket from NCO?
2: what to wear under the uniform this NCO?
3: The Tres neck jacket is not too large in comparison to that standard?

    Thanks for your help ...

    Francesco from Naples.

    Hello Francesco,
Wow! Wonderful photograph! If you saw this tunic for sale somewhere, you would probably just laugh.
Yes, the collar tabs and breast eagle are officer grade and the tress around the collar is from the parade tunic type. As for the shirt, it almost looks like a loose weave shirt collar or sweater/pulli with a zipper front closure; very interesting.
Nevertheless, it is a great picture.
Thank you for sharing it with us,
    Curtiss

Looks like collar the tabs and the eagle are not sewn with the tunic

      Best Regards,

The NCO is probably wearing the officer grade insignia for appeal and to show how well off he is? Some Soldiers like to set themselv's apart.

Very interesting photo you have there! As for the shirt under the tunic I think it might be either a private purchase or possibly a civilain shirt.

The undershirt looks more like a sweater to me, possibly hand knit. I have seen period publications with directions for knitting pullovers for soldiers at the front. see the link to the article below

Great shot , thank you for posting.

This should be in the tunics you would not buy thread. This guy was proud of being an NCO and his ek2 but not an NCO on top of the regs for sure.

Plus, look how many buttons it has. I'd say at least three more...
