    Luftwaffe Feldgendarmerie Gorget

    Hello guys,

Would like to get some opinions of this gorget before I list it on my site, just want to make sure everything is correct. I know they are very rare to find, condition is probably the best I have seen.

    Thanks,
    Michael

Good of you to ask first Michael.

I'm no expert on these Gorgets but had my share, personally I don't fancy the lettering; a little too 'candy like'. And did these LW Gorgets came indeed with LW blue/grey cloth backing??

Would love to here some other solid opinions.

It's Assmann made, in the light of that I would expect a typical Assmann eagle, like the Summer eagle, this one is a smiling one ..

I also agree on the glazy candy-like paint.

Think it's one like in the pic .., there's also a Feldjaegerkorps on the market, probably by the same maker.

                Who says ??

The one I've posted is a fake with smiling eagle and Bob's is quite different.

I think this type of eagle was never used by Assmann and besides that quite a few mint luft gorgets with this particular smiling eagle are floating around.
Same with Feldjaegerkorps, same features, same glazy paint..
Think these gorgets are only just a few years old.

                2 more fakes ..

                Jos.

Is this the one that sold earlier this month in a US Auction?
