Indeed, these appear to be HBT pants (or over-pants as in protective garment) for the Nebelwerfer HBT
2 piece protective uniform! Great find!

We went back and forth in PMs yesterday on these, they are the correct pattern but the odd thing is the belt and buckle but it may just be a field modification or manufacturer variation. I think it is a field modification to a standard pair.
These are often called "Nebel" and although worn by some Nebel units early in the War they actually were designed for light FLAK and certain artillery and panzer units, they were used by Nebel but then generally replaced by standard HBT Wraps and trousers for Panzerwerfer crews. Based on talking to Nebel vets the pants were very unpopular. The belt added to these makes sense because when connected to the belt ramps they were difficult to remove and uncomfortable etc.Comment

I worked on capturing the details of the belt. The thread used to "install" it is a light blue/grey thread. It is a very neat job, the big hint that it is a mod is the way the belt slits are cut in the hbt.Comment

Does anyone recognize what kind of webbing this is?
And a detail of the hole cut for belt. It is sewn around the edges. The belt has no holes from being buckled. So this was modified and never worn.Comment
