    Splinter camo

    Hello all,

Any chance for this one? The cut is different than anything I have seen before but the buttons and fabric look decent.

Original one, shortened (should show 6 buttons on front) - and its not splinter pattern...

                  Water pattern, or marsh pattern.

Never seen a shortened one, any history behind?

Lots of these came back to the US as hunting clothes, this one could perhaps have been modified postwar for this purpose.

All 3 you named are names given by us collectors - but none of those is the official german name for it, so you can call it whatever you want!

                          This is the Heeressumpftarnmuster 43
And that is the official name !

Literally translated this means "army marsh pattern 43"

The jacket is 100% original, but as stated before : shortened.
Very nice condition, but very hard to resell !

Looks nice...notice also the button hole stitching..called "fish eye" (also not bartacked) which many people say was not used during wartime manufacture...however..I've seen it time and time again on good pieces..just a thought.
