Uniform study period image of lightweight combat tunics !

Nice period image of lightweight combat tunics in wear.
These were made of stiff cotton duck material (groundsheets etc...).
    The company tailor was busy!

You usually see such tunics being worn by senior NCO's and officers, not so much by enlisted men in the field...
Some tailored with M36 bottle green collar. Note corporal's chevron (Gefreiter winkel)

The other possibility is that we're dealing with Gebirgsjaegers from Austria (I think I see an edelweiss on the cap of the driver),
which means these could also be converted Austrian Heer fatigue uniforms... Pocket flaps are not clear enough to tell for sure...

Either way, definately not your standard Wehrmacht uniforms shown here! Neat image to study for us "uniformologists" I think!

I know we are meant to focus on the uniforms but I am more taken by the fender pennant, great photo.
