I think that is an incredibly rare photo. You do not usually see what appears to be a German national with an "Indien" sleeve patch. They are usually the Indian type with a turban, etc. Thanks for sharing!

Stunning photo! I am also curious as to why a German national would hold such low rank (enlisted) in the Indian legion? I'd think he would have some sort of NCO position.

Maybe he has a chevron on the other sleeve?

Also, he has a whistle hanging from his right pocket, which might make him an nco of some sort?
