Volkssturm Armband On White Fabric - Opinions Please - Estate Find - First For Me

Got this armband from an estate seller. The armband was cut in half was placed in a scrapbook with some other German cloth insignia.

I have come across many red and black style out of the woodwork before, but this is a first for me. Does this style pre-date or post-date the red and white style; or is it a variation from same period?

    Thanks.

Thanks Lenny - I have seen those threads when I did a forum search prior to starting this thread. None had a "White" armband though.

The layout of the armband is completely different than the other variations. To me this has "the Look" to it.

This Sport Shirt Eagle, Auxiliary Litter Bearer Armband, HJ Armband and Tropical Gefreiter Chevron were all in the same scrapbook.

They all have the same photo album paper on the back and as you see the two armbands were cut like the Volkssturm armband.

Too bad of the glue and cutting…be honest if the armband wasn’t from a scrapbook the majority of us, probably including me , wouldn’t like this armband and even call it a fake. Probably because of the eagle...won't we guys?!
Now it's nice and even rare!

Thanks for the comments. The Volkssturm fabric weave is very coarse, so my instant reaction was positive based on that alone.

I was PM'd asking if I would post a close up of the chevron. Here it is.

Here's a photo of Volkssturm members wearing a white armband. I can't see any printing on the armband in the photo, but it does not really show a good view of the armband.

Thanks for posting this. It's always a treat to see new (and original) variations of the Volkssturm armband.

I have few variations outside of the typical red and dark blue type. They all seem rather roughly printed like this one and my theory is that these are later type bands made locally for units who were not supplied with the authorized version in time (or not at all due to logistical problems). But that is just a personal theory based on my own speculation.

Either way, very nice band. I love to find one just like for my Volkssturm collection

Found this picture and this same band or very very similar is worn over the HJ band here. Maybe HJ members of the volkssturm or something along those lines? Probably still just a later war type....
