A friend of mine asked me to go through his insignia collection and weed out the duds. I had to get these, although they are SS boards, I think they might have been used by the Heer, I will explain at the end.

I think these were used on a pz wrapper. It is a fact that some tankers would sew down their boards so they would not get snagged in the tank.DaveJ -

They are interesting, but another theory is that they were sewn together to make a blanket after the war, as I have seen done wit Luftwaffe tropical boards, though only a theory.

They are nice, good to see worn..There have been Waffen SS Straps taken off Heer wrappers, Grenadier had a set a few months back that came off a scrapped Heer Wrapper. He still sold them as Heer as they were removed from A Heer tunic.Comment
