herr Steiner I believe that is just a trick of perspective. i think the buttons are centered in their proper places on the pockets.

what about the armpit buttons? the only kind i have seen are paper, these seem to be some kind of metal dish buttons.

NOT only paper buttons had been used . The most common are shallow dish buttons with 4 holes.

Regarding the whole jacket - too new for me - looks lamost like present repros. Could you please give us some very colse shot of cloth structure ?
