Mystery Insignia / Can Anyone Identify

    Hi Gents,

Here is a very strange piece of insignia (at least to me!). It came in a small grouping of German insignia, all from a US vet. It's not been in collector hands before, so I know it is original to period, and to the ETO. Can anyone help me identify it?

I'm not sure it's Heer in nature, but the green cloth seems to be identical to Heer EM uniforms, perhaps. It kind of seems hand-made, as well.

    Thanks in advance!

My thoughts exactly! A quick made Potato peeling patch perhaps using German tunic material!! Some poor sod was perhaps in trouble a lot and his mates made him a patch for the duty he was pulling so often!

Maybe from the Dutch "Knokploeg" (KP in short) ?
