    M43 tunic, blood stained.

Came across this tunic at a dealers in Sydney. Collar reapplied, looks like an early type one has been put on. Typical rayon lining, large stain to left side, blood? Didn't find any holes to indicate bullet or stab wounds. Whats the consensus.

The eagle seems to be reapplied, and I do not believe that it is a blood of 70 years it is, is a spot to see fresh air.
My opinion photos of the eagle, interor, necklace.
      To help to better opinion.

I don't think it's blood, it would of eaten away with blood being acidic.

looks like an m-41 jacket rebadged and if that was blood me thinks it would have turned black in color by now
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Looks like a real tunic that has had everything added the silver buttons are for dress tunics, I agree the stain looks fresh, the way it spread into the rayon to me it looks like some type of oil or grease.

I looks like it came from a 'Broken Heart' after someone did a poor job of re-applying everything to the tunic.

It is just a very undesirable tunic imo. Jacques

Couldn't it be some ink from a fountain pen in the pocket?

The stain could be anything. It could be stage blood, even.

The viscose reacted to it and contracted, it has some chemical in it that caused that. It could be concentrated dye.

Doesn't look like blood for the reasons others have said, but if it were, there would have to be some sort of entry hole to the front, I would think? Didn't see any damage to that front area.

                            Hi,

I have a ww2 usmc uniform with the same characteristics. In the pocket I found a battery that leaked.

                            Best regards,

                            R.M.

That would do this and would match the color, WWII flashlight or battery with moisture
