Unknown collar tab. Any assistance?

Just curious if anyone knows what sort of collar tab this is. I picked it up in a trade from a friend and he didn't know what it was.

It is certainly salty and I looked through my copy of Angolia's Uniforms and Traditions but couldn't turn anything up.

I am certainly stumped, but that's not too difficult for me with German militaria.

That would be my guess but it could be for almost anything, hotel uniforms, ushers etc. local trolleys. I do not think it is military.
