    Tropical Tunic for Review

I have been looking for a tropical tunic to pair with some of my helmets. I believe I found one. Another WAF member was kind enough to give me the details on this; however, I thought I get the general concensus, as I don't know much about uniforms.

Does the insignia appear original to the uniform? Has anyone seen this combination--as all the other tropical uniforms I have seen had a different insignia.

Sorry, these photos are from the deal I purchased the tunic from.

    Many thanks for any information!
    Rob

From these pics, it looks to be a 3rd pattern tropical tunic, with a M44 eagle and non tropical collar tabs. If original, it must date from after 44, which might explain the collar tabs.

I think it is all original, just late war.

                Thanks!

                Collar Tabs = Litzen?

Any period pics exist of these late war tunics in use or are these tunics pretty much unissued surplus?

The tunic is original. The insignia are also original as well. When the two came together is the question. I think the mix of tropical and continental tunic/insignia are just a late war anomaly and are period applied.

                  nice big tunic. Steve

                      Agree with Jerry & Steve,
All OK - just that late war variation on a theme. Looks un-issued, as I'd expect to see in these 1944 dated tunics.
                      Regards,
                      Mark

                        Thanks Mark.

I might add, my wife and my thoughts go out to all the people in NZ. We were in Christchurch three months ago taking photos of the church and statues. A very unfornuate tragedy.

                          Thank You,
It's still sinking in how much damage there is, and loss of life.
