75th Jaeger Regiment Uniform Set

Hello Folks,

Here's a set I'm in the process of acquiring. The boots, belt, map case, M43, trousers and tunic are all from one man, and the seller is making me copies of the soldiers Soldbuch.

It looks like a very straight and correct set to me, and I'm excited to be getting it. I know some of you have uniforms from this hard-fighting regiment, and wanted to share this set with you.

Can you read the maker label in the hat? The fabric looks like it might be the prewar Austrian uniform material.

Robert, this is a super set. The jager officer's cap is just brilliant. I have a similar officers jacket and it displays just great. Jacques

Thanks for the comment - I can't wait to get the cap in hand. I also
like these fully lined, heavy wool tunics and it sounds like you do as well.


The problem with this piping color is the ambiguity. As this tunic is (supposed to be) named and the soldbuch covers his time in the 75th, I'll finally have a no-kidding jaeger tunic that wasn't an "adjusted" admin officers' specimen.

The seller has a nice wartime portrait photo of the officer, and I'm hoping he's wearing this uniform in it. We'll see.

The Officers cap is indeed Austrian cloth..the cap is made by Litto Mutze Wein... Billbert

Wow, that was impressive. Very nice set. Ever since I seen Where Eagles Dare I always wanted (untouched) one but never found it.

After some discussion with the seller, I picked up the rest of the group: his Iron Cross 1st Class, Assault Badge, and Silver wound badge. I just bought his Soldbuch, other documents, and pictures.

This officer lost his left arm - completely - as an NCO in 1943, recovered, and became an officer instructor at Wiener Neustadt.

When the Russians arrived at that city, he fought. I don't know how many men won their IAB, EKI, and bronze and silver CCCs in April of 1945, but this appears to be one of them.

Imagine winning the bronze and silver CCC fighting the Russians in the last 45 days of the war - fighting with one arm.

I'll post photos when they arrive - talk about an iron man.
