Question on armband

Hi Everyone!

I'm a beginner collector hoping to gain some knowledge from everyone on the site. I purchased this armband at a local antique store ( my first purchase ) and was wondering if it is fake. I was told that it could be a civilian made armband. The swastika looks like it is dyed.

Definitely non-standard and home made. Difficult to say when.

Something like this is simply impossible to authenticate. I suppose it is supposed to be a Hitler Youth armband. It could be a unique rare homemade crudely done one-off original or perhaps more likely, it could be part of a Halloween costume. Without a picture of this exact armband in wear, there is no way to say when it was made. For what it is worth I have not seen anything this crude that I thought was original. I wouldn't want to have this.

As for now I would say crude made Fake. I don't like it.
