The tunic is identified as fake but what about the story. Where did that come from?

Brought back from Germany in 1946 by an RAF member of the forces of occupation. Prior to his return to the UK he oversaw a working party and bought this tunic after asking if any members had souveniers to sell. This outstanding and original Panzer Tunic remained in the family until his move to a sheltered home about eight years ago, when it was sold in response to an advertisment.

Condition is excellent with only light service wear and just two moth holes on one lower pocket. Please feel free to ask any questions and for any additional images you may require. I could imagine the story don't come from the actual seller...
He bought probably the story with the jacket when he was ripped-off.
IMO, the seller is not dishonest, if it was the case, why to sell a so obvious fake in the E-stand instead of Ebarn?

Textbook Janke in every respect. Markings, rectangular cuff vents, material type under the collar etc.

Interesting that this Janke has even been shortened like original walking-out uniforms often are.

IMO, the seller is not dishonest, if it was the case, why to sell a so obvious fake in the E-stand instead of Ebarn?

I am just surprised by such and elaborate detailed story surrounding it. That is something I always pay attention to. My favorite stories go more like this- "Uncle Jack was in the War and had the crap in the attic for years. I know nothing about it".

Notice that the rear vent in the photo of the lining is shortened, while the vent in the exterior photo is not shortened. Looks like the seller combined some photos from 2 different tunics in the ad.

They went to town trying to fake it. It just stinks of faked wear etc. It is a text book example of attempts to duplicate wear but all of it is done poorly. They covered almost every base but beyond the stamps etc. the base materials and proportions of the cut will always kill them.

I think those are all taken the same day etc. The skirt vent goes higher for the top part of the vent then it shows on the lining. To me just an elaborate fake. Actually sort of sad.

Here we go again. After being shown that the tunic was bad the seller resold the tunic and it appears back on the forum!
