              I'm with you Jacques

As Leroy has pointed out, there seems to be so much contradiction thoughout past threads, very confusing. (head scrathing smilies would go here)

This is all certainly very illuminating!

Sorry Leroy. That style of numbering is unlike any I have encountered on original garments much less HG wrappers. On the other hand I have seen it on countless fake tunics, trousers, etc.

                      Thanks, Gene!

Are you referring to the Janke style marking, with the extra large numbers?

Yes, but this particular style. There are legitimate markings with larger numbers and letters but this style, and it's hard to describe, is a dead giveaway.

                            Jacques and Leroy,

If you could find a way to attend the So Cal Forum Members meeting I could walk you through anywhere from 4 to 8 wraps. It's way too much information to try and type out and show in photos. It is much easier to show you with it in your hands. You can also ask questions. I had 7 wraps at the last meeting, 2 Police, 2 SS, 2 Luft. HG, 1 Heer general officer, 1 SS beret and various other hats.

                              Richard,
That's very kind of you and if there's any way possible to do that, I will. I used to go to the Great Western all the time and miss seeing the area (plus one of my sons now lives in L.A.!). If you get a chance, please PM me with some dates of when meetings are scheduled. I am bound and determined to learn as much as I can about these.
                              Thanks (and Merry Christmas!),
                              Leroy
