gebirgsjager officer tunic, opinions! nice to about this one!

Rather strange place for markings ... and ... I've never actually seen a tailor made tunic with these standard markings.

This tunic gives me a strange feeling when I look at it. I can't put my finger behind it.
The collar, the French cuffs (cut off so it seems, this explains the long arms as the lower part should be turned back (IMO)). The very light green of the shoulderboards and collartabs (this doesn't have to be a problem in itself, GJ green has many shades, also this light green although not much encountered).

I also notice that the collar tabs and shoulder boards are of the variety usually found on Waffenrocks and piped service tunics. Not a deal breaker in itself, but combined withthe other concerns, it appears this one was put together.

Hi Bart! And Hi Manuel,

very busy here...so sorry for the lack of contributions...my baby boy is just walking...and now I have to chase him everywhere!

This tunic is an odd one and a real brain teaser! On one hand it looks perfectly to me like a regular period officer's tunic......albeit with removed cuffs and lengthened sleeves...and an almost pre-war high collar. But really other than that believe the tunic itself is peiod. However it is extreemly curious that it has what appear to be absolutely genuine size stampings in the pre-war style (like those found on the Waffenrock) but also with a Holters label? This is very strange! I would examine the Holter's label carefully to see if that has been added.

The colour of the Waffenfarbe certainly looks like a Pz grenadier apple green to me......but if Bart says it is accepable for Gj then it concurrs with the stamp inside. The insignia is the pattern used on the waffenrock or pre-war pipied service tunic....does this tunic show any sign of having had some piping removed from the collar or the leading edge of the front closure?.

It poses quite a few questions this one.....but I feel it is all genuine pieces.....just strange combinations...and that the missing cuffs drag the value of this down somewhat even though it appears to be some kind of period modification....but another mystery on top of the others.

it is strange but in the year 1944 who knows!
mark here is the foto you requested, I am trying to get a better camera to show better some details!
what I can tell you is that this soldier started (as stated by my friend) as a gefreiter in 1936 he was killed in ungarn 12/1944.
wade no traces of piping removed!

If you have the book die RK der DWH band 4 gebirgstruppe you can see many officers wearing this collar tabs without piping in their uniforms !
