    Volkssturm Armband opinions

I know these are difficult to authenticate at times,
but was wondering your thoughts on this one. I'm
pretty sure it's alright but opinions are always appreciated.
Did a burn test on a piece of thread and it passed.

    thank you

      A ok
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

        Greetings waffendude,

If it passes negative to a UV light test at least you know that it is made out of the correct materials. Printed items are hard to authenticate because during the 1970's tons of items were printed up using correct materials and period designs.

I do like your piece because it was made on a sheet and your armband came from the bottom of the sheet. Notice the selvedge edge on the bottom of the armband? This is the finished edge of a piece of material. It will not fray, so they only needed to sew up the top edge.

This doesn't make it any more real or not but it is different. I hope this helps.

          Thanks guys,
          Fred...
I wondered about the bottom edge not being rolled and stiched, never thought of it being cut from the bottom of the sheet, makes sense
I'll blacklight it tommorrow at work

          thank you

Indeed. I bought one in the late 70s and the man had a "sheet" hanging on the wall and he cut one off with his pen knife.
