My opinion still stands, thats a privately tailored cap. Would match the privately tailored boards. Typical acting of NCOs.

The boards may be Austrian made, I have an early Anschluss period medical set made by an Austrian Tailor with pointed boards and piping.

I forgot to mention that this style of wearing the "Edelweiss" that way (on darkgreen cloth) on the cap is austrian style, too.
