    M36 nco

    Hello,

I bought this jacket as a nice one, it mean all period applied insignas.
    And without postwar modification.

So i need your opinions, do you see something wrong in this jacket ?
Did it deserved its place in my collection as a definitive piece ?

    Many thanks

    Hi

Can you see any marking on the inside liner on the area were the botton holes or bottons are?
The big numbers printed on the inside look like museum inventory markings.
It look to me an original issue combat tunic with some NCO upgrades. The collar patches removed to place the tress and then resewn more laterally. They sometimes replaced the whole collar.
The eagle doe not look to me like factory applied, but it was common for NCO's to replace the eagle.
Does the insignia and tunic wear match?
I personally like it, but the price is much lower than a combat tunic with factory applied collar patches ans eagle

      Hello,

Judging from the pictures I also think that the collar insignia is re-sewn, but it looks like it is done period. As said before, eagle not factory applied, but looks period done.
      Nevertheless a nice tunic

Everything looks plausible...but with museum or studio type markings, there is no positive way to tell. Looks decent from the photos shown.

Looks like a nice tunic...breast eagles came mostly hand sewn on M36 tunics so it is always hard to tell if they are period sewn or not

Yes, this is true. But isn't it also true that factory-sewn eagles on M36's were not applied with the dark green badge cloth backing? This of course, could have been period done by the NCO, or someone he hired to do it for him.

Ooops. I see earlier Juan said as much. I guess I just agree with him.

                Hello,
only for to understand, if the collar tabs are resewn more laterally, could someone indicate me with an arrow the holes of the previous stitching where the collar tabs were originally sewn?
                Regards
                Daniele

                  For baptist egg,
is the eagle sewn through the lining?
If it is not factory sewn, but it is a field modification, I think that most probably it is sewn through the lining or the side seam of the lining it has been opened for to sew the eagle not through the lining.

                    Hello,

As this is a M36 jacket, there is openings on the lining for the internal suspenders.
So it is possible to sewn by hand the eagle not through the lining.

And i don't see holes of the previous stitching for collar tabs.

                      I like it.
Are the lower pockets sewn down flat? This was a normal modification and wouldn't detract, I'm just curious. In some pictures it appears they are yet in others they do not.
