Thanks mates , is strange that this easy to find eagle, more than other models, at least in white and blue, is not seen on pictures or original stitching to garments.

There is also a bevo Army eagle BLACK on white that was the center of the "Army Anti-Aircraft Defense Leader's Armbands (sometimes called incorrectly Army OCS Armbands) .....

Photos and lighting can be tricky....looks like a BLACK eagle on white to me....
only official use I know of for this combination are on these armbands....

        Greetings All,

I would love to see some photos of this eagle in this application. Are you sure that it is a black eagle? I have seen the blue eagle, but not this pattern, used in an armband application, but never this pattern of eagle. I, in my limited collecting experience, have only seen this pattern eagle as loose insignia.

i HAVE THE EXACT SAME EAGLE. I stored my collection from the 60s in my sons's house and brought it home yesterday. The fabric is not so clean and the fabric will not lie flat..would a warm iron be ok? It really maintains the folds and I am not sure of the nature of the fabric. the blue thread is perfect. I will be taking fotos of a few unirforms and caps, all orig, in exc condition that I bought years ago. Cheers

            Greetings musketiii,

I usually wet BeVo eagles in warm water and place them between two pieces of glass. I have two pieces of square glass slag with smooth sides that I use. that I use. I have found an iron puts undo wear on the item.

                Greetings Robert J.D.,

Nice eagle! I always like to see them sewn on to something!!

This thread has posed more questions than it has answered in my humble opinion.

1.) We see this eagle on the loose but never in a photo or on a tunic. Does anybody out there have a photo of this eagle in wear? Andreas posted a shot of this eagle machine sewn on a white uniform. Andreas do you have a picture of the whole uniform? Robert J.D. posted a nice cut-off CA eagle of this style. Does anybody else have cut-offs? Can you post them?

2.) WE see this eagle in Gold on dark green, gold on blue, blue on white and gold on tan. Is there any example in Heer/Army colors? Militaria 2000 says he has seen them in Army colors. Do you have a scan or photo and can you post it for us?

3.) John G. mentioned the Army Anti-aircraft defense Leaders armband. Angolia states that a Black on white woven eagle was used on this. Does anybody have an example of this armband that they can post. From what is posted in the Angolia book the eagles appear to be the standard 2nd pattern Heer eagle but black on white and not the eagle we are discussing. Does anybody have one of these eagles on the loose?

I have never seen this pattern of eagle that we are discussing on anything! Clothing, armband or anything else, it is always on the loose. Rober J.D. and Vizenz have shown two nice examples of it sewn to a uniform or uniform piece.

The manufacturing techniques of this eagle are the same techniques and styles used in the third reich time period. We gathered this by closely comparing this eagle with other known originals. We came to the conclusion before that there were enough anomolies in the manufacture that it was good but probably foreign made. There are collectors out there that still do not like this eagle;I WAS one of them for the longest time.

Hopefully we can get a few more responses and answer some of these questions. Sorry for rambling on.

                Fred

                      Greetings All,

I thought that I would bring this thread back up to the top.

Anybody find any pictures yet or have you seen any more cut-offs? I would love to see this eagle in army colors as mentioned earlier in the thread; does anybody have one of these laying around or a scan or picture of one?

We see this eagle around alot but not in any period photos. They are on the loose and on cut-offs. I would love to see one in a period picture.
